Just keep wanting to go back and try more!
A fantastic italian restaurant ! Everything from the breads to start with to limoncello to finish is superb! The family run experience just adds to the ambience of this venue. It means so much to be served by someone who knows the food inside and out.. The calves liver is the best I have ever tasted and the fish dishes are fresh and full of flavour. Full marks for the website which so accurately describes the food. The pictures are exactly what you can expect. How often does that happen?! Keep on having to go back to try something else! You will not be disappointed...

If you want a great Italian restaurant with a Sardinian flavour then look no further!
There was a happy relaxed atmosphere in Pepe Sale when we ate with four friends. A super supper was enjoyed by all due to the great food and service. Next time we are back in Reading we will pay a return visit for sure. Thank you for a most enjoyable eating experience.

Friendly service and good food!
We went here for our work Xmas lunch and everything was spot on. The food arrived on time, it was all excellent, with quick and very friendly service. When we carried on with a few glasses of wine, they were more than happy to let us stay in the restaurant.
I'd certainly like to visit here on a normal lunch/dinner and choose of the main menu - as the rest of the food did look very appetising. Prices were reasonable, certainly not the cheapest, however you could pay a lot more in some restaurants in Reading.
Would happily recommend to other people for all occasions!

Consistently lovely food and service!
Frequently eat here through work and it never fails to hit the spot - great choice of food (pasta, fish, meat), beautifully cooked. Always worth checking out the specials as you could easily eat from these every day! Excellent house wine and all topped off by excellent, friendly service.
A regular favourite and you can choose dishes to suit your budget including a £5 lunch special. Would definitely recommend.

Wow... wish I could eat here every day!
Good value for the quality (not so much more than overpriced premium chains like Strada if you are circumspect about what you order). OK, I wasn't paying!
Terrific, efficient and ever so friendly service ... food and drink to die for. Check out their calves liver (my standard "test" - and the best I've ever eaten), their perfectly grilled ultra fresh fish, and if the quality of vegetable "sides" or the bread is the measure of a restaurant, then perfect!
Looking forward to trying the suckling pig sometime soon ... best Italian in Reading (the South East ?) by a mile ... just GO !

This is my favourite restaurant ever! From the outside, Pepe Sale looks rather uninviting but take the plunge and walk through the door - you'll soon find that the restaurant has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and the staff will make you feel right at home.
Attention to detail is fantastic. From the nibbles on the table when you are seated, to the friendly (but not over friendly) banter from the staff, and the considered advice and recommendations by your waiter.
I don't remember having a single meal at Pepe Sale that I wasn't completely happy with. The pasta is simply divine. This is not a 'cheap eat' (though it is not expensive either) but it is worth every penny, especially for a special occasion or if you are trying to impress someone!
