Deep down in the middle of the Mediterranean, the people of Sardinia still enjoy the traditional home-cooked food that their grandmothers used to make. Here at Pepe Sale, in the heart of Reading, we aim to bring you some of those delicious, authentic flavours of Sardinia.

Restaurant owner, Toni Sale, was brought up on this idyllic island and is delighted to have opened the very first Sardinian-cum-Italian restaurant in the country.

A finalist in our first year of being open, in 2000 we won the "Best Italian Food Restaurant in Great Britain" awarded by the Pasta, Pizza and Italian Food Association of Great Britain". As it was only our second year of trading we thought it was a great achievement, and recognition of our efforts to establish " Pepe Sale" as one of the best restaurants in the area, providing top quality, well cooked,authentic Italian food, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The menu features some Sardinian specialities that many of our customers had never tried before they came here - like our wonderful Sardinian breads, wild boar and of course, our speciality fish dishes, plus on Friday & Saturday evening we cook our 'house speciality' - slowly roasted suckling piglet Together with the stylish, minimalist décor you will find that eating at Pepe Sale is an authentic Sardinian dining experience - and all at an affordable price.
